The People Eye Care Foundation helps people with preventable blindness, especially if caused by cataracts.
What We Do
The People Eye Care Foundation (PECF) provides free cataract removal surgeries, treatment of diabetic retinopathy and training in the methods of natural eye vision improvement for people in need in Thailand and Myanmar.
Each month a team of PECF volunteer ophthalmologist surgeons, nurses and non-medical helpers travel to government hospitals restoring eyesight over a 3 day period.
Since being established over 27 years ago PECF has restored vision to over 37,000 eyes.
Sometime after age 50, most of us are likely to hear our eye doctor say, “You have cataracts.”
A cataract is a clouding of the lens inside the eye, causing vision loss that cannot be corrected with glasses, contact lenses or corneal refractive surgery like LASIK.
